Bus car accident in Tiddim Chin State 16 killed 26 November 2010

It is understood that Rev. Cope Centennial Jubilee is regarded to be very important by the Chin people not only that he was one of the American Baptist Christian missionaries to the Chin people , but it was Rev. Cope who wrote all the school text books of Chin Reader, Geography, Arithmetic, Hygiene ,Civics and science in several dialects of the Chin language in Haka, Tedim, Mindat and might be in Falam too for the first standard to 4th standard as the inspector of schools during the British administration. I, myself used those text books from 1st standard to 4th standard in Haka dialect while I was in Chin Primary School class from 1945 to 1949. Our primary school inspectors (Pyinya oke)by then were firstly Saya U Aung Dwe (Ba Saw pa), a Karen and later Pu Khai Kho Lian from Thuklai, and Saya U Sein Pe, a Karen too. Saya U Aungdwe and Saya U Sein Pe were there in the Chin Hills district then as part of Chritian missionaries to the Chin people under the American Baptist mission to succeed Rev. Cope as the Inspectors of Primary schools in Chin Hills under the British administration before independence of the Union of Burma.

Thus it is very sad to learn such deadly accidence in such important occasion for those who went to commemorate the centennial Jubilee. Special security should have been taken for all the buses and other cars that go to Tedim for the commemoration of the Jubilee.

We pray for the families of the deceased who died at the accidence and for those who died there to rest in peace in their heavenly home.
